Sadiq Ali, a spokesman for the Somali police, said that “the attack occurred in a restaurant near the police academy.” He then added that at least six people were killed in the incident, including one attacker.
An eyewitness said that when the attack occurred, it was raining heavily and many people rushed into the restaurant to shelter from the rain.
Another witness said that after the incident, he saw thick smoke rising above the restaurant and an ambulance trying to reach the scene.
