With a view to deconfinement, the government is still counting on TousAntiCovid.

The tracking application will therefore see new updates with a clearer interface and more detailed data on the coronavirus epidemic.

But the goal of 15 million users is still a long way off.

Slowly but surely, TousAntiCovid is making its way into the population.

There are now just under nine million users of the contact case tracing application put in place by the government since June.

At each speech, all the ministers do not fail to call on the French to use it.

In fact, the executive is counting on her for deconfinement to help contain the coronavirus epidemic.

Improvements are also being made to the application.

Objective: to accelerate adoption among the population, in continuous progress but still below the set objectives.

The most notable change concerns the travel certificate.

Integrated into the application since the big update of October 22, it was until now accessible at the bottom of the application.

Considering that this is a good way to popularize TousAntiCovid, the government has therefore decided to make the certificate more visible.

It is now highlighted higher on the home screen.

Another novelty: in addition to national figures on the spread of the virus and hospital blood pressure, local data, at the level of the department, will be added during the week.

Target 15 million users mid-December

These features should give the application a new boost.

Cédric O has set the target of 15 million users for mid-December.

A figure that was not chosen at random: the Secretary of State for Digital is based on a model from Inserm.

“In this context of the second wave, if TousAntiCovid is adopted by 30% of the population, it was projected that this would reduce hospital pressure,” explains Chiara Poletto, one of the researchers working on this project.

"Even though the app is already useful, if you want to reduce the possibility of a third wave, you really have to achieve this high utilization rate."

But there is still a way to go.

At the moment, TousAntiCovid is downloaded by 150,000 people every day.

It would take almost twice as much to reach 15 million in mid-December.

So, to accelerate the adoption of the application, further improvements will follow in the coming weeks.

The government is still working on a QR Code system to be scanned at the entrance to restaurants to replace the reminder notebooks.
