The renewed WHO conference focuses on epidemic response and prevention

  The resumed seventy-third session of the World Health Assembly was held in Geneva, Switzerland.

The renewed meeting lasts for 5 days and will be held by video.

This meeting focused on the response and prevention of the epidemic, and discussed major issues facing global health such as the prevention and control of the new crown pneumonia epidemic and other public health emergencies, and the global vaccine action plan.

  The World Health Assembly passed a resolution calling for strengthening prevention and response to health emergencies, fully implementing the International Health Regulations, and urging member states to allocate special funds from domestic investment, recurrent expenditure and public funds for health emergencies prevention, and strengthen The capacity and infrastructure construction of public health-related institutions.

  In his speech, WHO Director-General Tan Desai once again called for global solidarity to fight the new crown pneumonia epidemic.

Tan Desai emphasized that we should continue to be vigilant to prevent the anti-epidemic fatigue mentality.

Only science, action, and unity can defeat the epidemic. This is the attitude that WHO has upheld from the beginning.

  Regarding WHO's coordination and leadership of major global actions against the new crown pneumonia epidemic, the latest data released by WHO shows that since the outbreak, WHO has issued more than 600 technical guidelines of various types and downloaded 9 million times a month; 168 countries and regions shipped more than 285 million basic medical products, including masks, protective clothing, testing reagents, etc.; shipped about 13,000 ventilators to 110 countries and regions; provided various training courses in 41 languages, More than 4.5 million people have registered; coordinated to provide 120 million rapid test kits to low-income countries and 4.5 million courses of dexamethasone to low-income countries; 186 countries and regions have joined the COVAX global new crown vaccine program.

  The World Health Organization urges countries to take the opportunity of responding to the new crown pneumonia epidemic, increase epidemic prevention capacity building, increase public health investment, and fundamentally solve the problem of insufficient funds.
