The municipality constantly has 28 digital traps deployed in Växjö's sewer network.

When a rat is caught, an email is sent.

- In this way, we can keep up with the rat problem in the sewer network, which is constant but which right now does not seem to be increasing, says Peter Gustavsson.

The construction makes the rats move

When building new houses or renovating pipes, it is common for the rats to start moving and to find their way down the drain.

Therefore, the municipality is now trying to be one step ahead in placing traps.

- This is what we did, for example, when building the new town hall.

That way, we can stay one step ahead and prevent a major rat problem, says Peter Gustavsson.
