Analysis.Ira in Ferraz: "The barons are selfish and have very short-sighted"
Politics. Aznar sees the agreement with Bildu as the beginning of the "fracture" of Spain and Guerra dismisses it as "despicable"
Pedro Sánchez has shown today in the meeting of the Federal Executive, which he himself has chaired, his discomfort over the criticism of some barons, after the announcement by Arnaldo Otegi that EH Bildu will vote in favor of the Budgets and the defense that the Government and the party have made about the normality of this decision.
In the meeting, reproaches have been made for how the PSOE has defended these events, to the "set design", but it has ended, according to the sources consulted, with a "closing of ranks" and a final intervention in which the Prime Minister has reproached the disloyalty that in his opinion supposes that criticisms are made in public and not in private.
A message addressed to the barons, although according to different sources, has not referred directly to them.
One of the people who had previously taken the word has been the president of
Extremadura
, Guillermo Fernández Vara, who first showed their differences by agreement with the left -
wing nationalism
and today, they
say, it has "apologized".
Despite this internal debate on how the formation has digested Otegi's announcement, substantiated today at the meeting, the PSOE has reacted to the avalanche of criticism that has rained down on it, inside and outside the party, for agreeing with EH Bildu and the defense that the management has made about the normality of this decision.
After maintaining that it is something that is part of "democratic normalization", because it is a force that is in Parliament, the PSOE Secretary of Organization and Minister of Transport, José Luis Ábalos, author of these statements, has denied that there is a pact with EH Bildu. "The Government cannot renounce the votes of anybody, there is no mechanism for this," he said.
The attempt to rectify the socialists, visualized today, has also been the first pronouncement on the attitude of the second vice president, Pablo Iglesias, who immediately celebrated the words of Otegi and that EH Bildu joins the "state leadership."
Ábalos, who has also criticized the fact that Bildu is given so much prominence (something that Iglesias himself has done), has pointed out that this is a "serious" Executive and that is why he is not going to pronounce on what the vice president has said .
"We do not enter into assessing the considerations of the Government partners," he said, to then qualify his position as a United We Can strategy.
"They express themselves as they see fit according to their political project."
