Jonathan Daval, 36, who lives in a small rural village in Vezul in eastern France, reported to the police on October 28, 2017 that his wife Alexia Daval, who went for a jog, did not return home.

When Jonathan was 21 years old and Alexia was 17 years old, he first met him for 10 years. On July 18, 2015, he married and promised to live his life together as a couple.

Two days after reporting the disappearance, his wife was found dead in the woods.

The body was partially burned, and traces of being severely beaten and choked by someone remained.

The image of the husband crying as he recalls his wife, who died at the age of 29 at the funeral, was captured on the broadcaster's camera and touched everyone's heart.

He grabbed the mic with a trembling voice at press conferences, and led events across France in honor of his wife.

The incident faced a shocking reversal on January 30, 2018, three months later.

He admitted that he had murdered his wife after the investigation authorities persistently interrogated.

He was arguing, and his emotions grew so he beat his wife and strangled him.

He suddenly overturned the statement that his brother-in-law murdered his wife in June 2018, and returned to the original statement in December of that year.

It was discovered that the body had not been burned until the end, but in June 2019, even Lee admitted.

During the investigation, the husband stated that his wife continued to sexually insult him, and that the day before the crime, his wife refused to have sex, and the quarrel began.

Alexia's death later sparked a campaign in France to condemn Femicide, who was murdered by her husband and boyfriend just because she was a woman.

Jonathan was already handed over to trial for murdering his wife and was sentenced to life imprisonment.
