The 2021 Ice Hockey World Championship is to be held May 21 - June 6 in Minsk and Riga.
The Latvian authorities were in favor of negotiations with the IIHF for the transfer of the tournament to another country in connection with the situation in Belarus.
According to the head of IIHF Rene Fasel, the organization is making every effort to host the tournament in the two originally selected countries.
