Israeli and American media reported that US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo will participate in a tripartite summit with the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, and Bahrain's Foreign Minister, Abdul Latif Al-Zayani, in occupied Jerusalem next Wednesday.

"Axios" website quoted Israeli officials as saying that the two meetings will discuss a plan to open embassies and exchange ambassadors, in addition to Israel and Bahrain signing a civil aviation agreement allowing flights between Tel Aviv and Manama.

Axios noted that Al-Zayani's visit will be the first official and public visit of a Bahraini minister to Israel, revealing that the Israeli Foreign Minister, Gabi Ashkenazi, and the Bahraini Minister of Industry, Trade and Tourism, Zayed bin Rashid Al-Zayani, will also attend the summit.

This is the first public and official visit of ministers from Bahrain to Israel, and it comes days after the Israeli Knesset (Parliament) ratified the normalization agreement with Bahrain.

The Israeli press described the summit as a continuation of the ceremony of signing the joint declaration to establish normalization relations between Israel and Bahrain in the capital Manama several weeks ago.

In a speech to the Knesset, Netanyahu said that normalization with Bahrain is "a tremendous lever for our economy, from which all Israeli citizens will benefit."

The Israeli Prime Minister added, "Look at what is happening now, thanks to the peace agreements that we have concluded, ships from the Emirates continue to unload their cargo at Haifa Port, and an official delegation of Israeli businessmen is now in Dubai, and agricultural products bearing the Israeli flag are sold in the UAE market."

On October 25, the Israeli government ratified the agreement with the UAE, before referring it to the Knesset today, and he is scheduled to return to the government to ratify it permanently.

In mid-September, Israel signed a normalization agreement with both the UAE and Bahrain in Washington under the auspices of the United States, so Sudan would later agree to normalize relations with Tel Aviv.
