As Christmas approaches, ski resorts are worried about an uncertain reopening

Yann is a seasonal ski instructor.

Every winter, he crosses France from the Côtes d'Armor to Val d'Isère and swaps his sailing classes for a ski lesson.

This year, his trip is still hypothetical.

"For now, I'm on hold. I think we have to adapt as and when things go, we don't have much choice."

Do not open too early "so as not to close"

Between instructors, traders and hoteliers, the mountain sector employs 120,000 people, now suspended from government authorization.

Jean-Luc Boch, the boss of France Montagne, however calls on his colleagues to be patient.

"At the beginning of December, it would be premature. We cannot open too quickly and take the risk of closing."
