November 16, 2020 The Sapienza University of Rome, Tim and Google announce the creation of AI Academy, a training alliance of excellence in which business, academia and research will collaborate to train highly qualified innovative professionals in the field of artificial intelligence and a common factor is one's technological and scientific knowledge at the service of the needs of the public administration, research centers and companies.

The objective of the partnership is to redesign business models by leveraging the potential of AI.

AI Academy training will be dedicated to recent graduates and professionals working in companies, where the potential of artificial intelligence involves humanistic, scientific and technological knowledge.

The training courses will in fact be of multidisciplinary scientific improvement, from the repercussions of AI on the planning and management of socio-health emergencies, to the reflection on ethics and on the legal and regulatory profiles posed by technological innovation and to the technical and strategic skills applied to business.

In December the presentation of the training courses and in January the advanced training course "Artificial Intelligence for Crisis & Emergency Management in Medicine" will start.

The advanced training course "Ethics, Rights and Policies of Artificial Intelligence" will follow in the first quarter of 2021.

In spring, the "AI Strategies & Business Applications" specialist course will start, dedicated only to professionals who work in the company to understand the opportunities offered by the adoption of solutions based on Artificial Intelligence, assessing the risks and estimating their costs.

"Human capital is the most important asset in our country. We must develop it in an important way, we universities together with companies", said the outgoing rector of the La Sapienza University of Rome, Eugenio Gaudio, on the occasion of the presentation of the AI ​​Academy. 

"The applications of artificial intelligence are enormous and there is no field in which AI cannot help human intelligence", underlined Carlo Nardello, Chief Strategy, Business Development & Transformation Officer Tim, during the presentation of AI Academy.

"We are not talking about a new technology, the novelty consists in the cloud that gives it the possibility to expand and become an important reality, we are witnessing a synergy of technologies to try to boost the economy".

An 'old' technology but what makes it current today and makes it necessary to implement it with adequate skills is the synergy with 5G

and cloud computing: "their sum means that artificial intelligence is now 'for everyone', as a service also to companies, available by connecting to their own internet ", underlines Diego Ciulli Public Policy & Governments Affairs Manager of Google for Italy.
