I spend hours from time to time inside the White House, and of course any journalist working in Washington aspires to enter the most famous house in the world, and attend press conferences and events, which journalists can cover or participate in.

The issue of entering the White House is difficult.

Given the huge number of journalists accredited in Washington from various countries of the world, and some estimate their numbers in the thousands, the difficulty of entering the White House does not prevent journalists from entering the White House after following several routine procedures.

From my direct experience, I can say that entering the White House during the years of President Donald Trump's rule was completely different from his entry during the presidents of former Republican George Bush and Democrat Barack Obama.

The White House press conference during the Trump era was different from it during the Bush and Obama era, and he is no longer bored;

As most of the questions before the Trump era were answered in an expected, moderately diplomatic manner without announcing new or urgent news or news, and the matter differed with Trump.

As journalists have opportunities to obtain previously unknown answers to their questions.

I am talking here about the ease of access to the press center attached to the White House, which I go to from time to time, and intermittently during the years of the rule of the two previous administrations, and next to the press center, journalists have access to several press conferences of Presidents Bush and Obama and finally President Trump, inside the East Room, the largest of the White House rooms On several occasions.

Only representatives of major American visual and written media outlets such as the Associated Press, The New York Times, and FOX News, can only receive the White House permanent press card. Foreign media representatives can obtain this card, if certain conditions are met, the most important of which is to allocate a full-time reporter to the White House, who goes to the press center daily, and covers the White House events on a regular basis, and these conditions require a huge media body with great resources, Realizing the importance of allocating one or more journalists, devoting him or her to cover the White House, which is something that many Arab parties do not realize.

The White House press conference during the Trump era was different from it during the Bush and Obama era, and he is no longer bored;

As most of the questions before the Trump era were answered in an expected, moderately diplomatic manner without announcing new or urgent news or news, and the matter differed with Trump.

During the Bush and Obama era, the matter was related to the existence of disciplined and organized administrations at its top, a president who spoke only with an account, and after he listened to his senior advisers, and the situation changed dramatically with Trump's arrival to the White House, his failure to write controversial tweets, and his refusal to obey the opinions and advice of his advisors before making the statements. His opinion on exciting contentious issues;

Rather, he arrived to clash directly with many journalists who did not mind the head of the most powerful country in the world being challenged live.

The media is divided towards President Trump, his political agenda, and his electronic tweets, and despite the mutual hostility between the traditional American media on the one hand and Trump on the other hand, there are hundreds and perhaps thousands of newspapers, websites and stations supporting Trump;

But what is new is the arrival and entry of some representatives of these newspapers, websites and stations to the White House;

To crowd out the major American media, known internationally, in his media center.

Trump's news and statements have dominated the media since his political appearance and his intention to run for the presidency at the end of 2015, until his defeat in the 2020 elections.

With the outbreak of the Corona virus, President Trump controlled the daily report at the White House, and Trump's daily press conference became an important material for ridicule and mockery of the president, who in turn did not stop his attack on journalists, until Trump canceled these daily statements.

During all those years the media played an overwhelming role in influencing Trump's personality, identity and positions, and many imagined that Trump's disagreements with the media would end with his arrival to the White House.

However, it seems that it was only the beginning, and his exit from the White House does not seem to stop it.

Trump and his supporters, led by his most important lawyer, Rudolf Giuliani, the former mayor of New York City, who tweeted that "the media was surprised by Trump's victory, contrary to all their expectations. From here, the media is trying in various ways to entrap Trump and thwart his presidency."

The media fell, intentionally or ignorantly, into Trump's trap, yes, subscriptions and advertisements increased in CNN, the New York Times, The Washington Post and others;

However, the credibility and neutrality of the media diminish with the passage of time, and get used to the approach of attacking Trump's personality and behaviors, and moving away from objectively evaluating his policies, and thus the media loses after Trump leaves the White House.

On the other hand, we can say that there is no danger to the freedom of the American media, as its regulation is due to the First Amendment to the US Constitution, which prohibited Congress from passing any laws that would undermine freedom of expression or freedom of the press, and the First Amendment to the Constitution was adopted and one of the 10 amendments that constitute a document Rights of December 15, 1791.

Four years earlier, Thomas Jefferson, one of the founding fathers of the United States, wrote to a friend of his in 1787, saying, "If the decision is up to me to choose between a government without a press, or a press without a government, I will without hesitation choose a press without a government."

After 5 years of unceasing battles between Trump and the media, which constituted a war without winners and without losers, the time has come for the necessity of the return to healthy relations between the White House and the Fourth Authority, those relations that were not affected in the past by exposing former President Richard Nixon until his removal from the White House ;

But she was negatively affected by unhealthy relationships with the Trump White House.
