A 16-year-old teenager was out of danger on Friday evening after receiving several stab wounds in Avrillé (Maine-et-Loire), a town adjacent to Angers, said the public prosecutor Eric Bouillard.

The firefighters had initially indicated that the victim was in "absolute emergency".

Alerted around 11:30 am, the emergency services intervened "following a fight with a 15-year-old teenager who was stabbed" in the middle of the street.

Police said three individuals were on the run.

The victim, a high school student, according to the prosecution, is unknown to the police.

According to the prosecutor, a "motor vehicle suddenly stopped cutting the road (to the victim, editor's note).

Three individuals got out of this vehicle and used violence against the young person.

He was knocked down, hit and wounded with a knife.

The attackers then fled, ”said the magistrate.

“Several stab wounds were noted, to the shoulder, abdomen and thigh.

One of these injuries initially gave rise to great concern but the treatment made it possible to put him out of danger, ”stressed Eric Bouillard.

According to the first elements, "if the terrorist trail has been ruled out and if it is possible that the facts are linked to the opposition that may exist between certain groups of young people, the motive is not specified at this stage", added the prosecutor.

The Angers judicial police were seized of the investigation.
