In the early hours of Saturday morning (local time), the official Saudi TV reported that the Saudi-Emirati coalition in Yemen had destroyed an explosive drone launched by the Houthis towards the Kingdom.

Turki Al-Maliki, a spokesman for the coalition forces, said, "The Houthis launched this booby-trapped plane in a deliberate and systematic manner, targeting civilian objects and civilians in the southern region."

Yesterday, Friday, the Saudi authorities said that "a fire broke out late Thursday evening near a floating unloading platform belonging to the petroleum products distribution station in Jizan, south of the Kingdom," adding that the fire resulted from the destruction of two booby-trapped boats launched by the Houthi group in Yemen.

The Saudi authorities confirmed that the fire did not result in any injuries or loss of life, describing it as a "sabotage act affecting maritime navigation and exposing regional waters to major environmental disasters."

It added that it is a criminal and terrorist act targeting the security of oil exports and the stability of energy supplies.

Last Wednesday, the Houthi group threatened to target vital military and economic sites in Saudi Arabia in the coming days, calling on foreign companies in the Kingdom to stay away from these facilities.

Frequently, the Houthis fire ballistic missiles, missiles and drones at Saudi areas, some of which left human and material losses, and the group says that these attacks come in response to the ongoing coalition raids against it in separate areas of Yemen.

Yemen has been suffering an ongoing war between the pro-government forces and the Houthi militants who have controlled several governorates, including the capital, Sanaa, since 2014.
