India and Pakistan severely exchanged fire in the border area, India said 11 people were killed
Many Indian media quoted reports from Indian officials as saying that on the 13th, Pakistani forces violated the ceasefire agreement repeatedly in the Gurez to Uri area of Indian-controlled Kashmir, causing 11 deaths in the Indian-controlled Kashmir area. Five of them are members of the security forces.
On the 13th, Colonel Rajesh Karia, the spokesperson of the Indian Ministry of Defense in India-controlled Kashmir, introduced that Pakistan used mortars and other weapons and deliberately aimed at civilian areas.
Subsequently, the Indian army fought back fiercely with artillery, killing several Pakistani personnel. Several Pakistani military bunkers, munitions storage sites and launch pads were destroyed.
According to the "Hindustan Times" report, late on the 13th, India carried out a retaliatory operation, killing about 8 Pakistani soldiers.
The Indian Press Trust quoted the Indian military as saying that about 6-7 Pakistani Army soldiers, including two special forces commandos, were killed in Pakistan, and 10-12 others were injured.
According to official Indian statistics, as of August 31 this year, India and Pakistan have had more than 240 firefights in the border areas this year. The firefight on the 13th was the most serious this year.
