Sources in the Libyan Political Dialogue Committee in Tunisia said that the drafting committee reached important understandings regarding the constitutional path, the sovereign positions and the general amnesty law, in light of differences over the method of choosing the Presidency Council, the government, and international agreements.

The sources added to Al-Jazeera Net that "among the different items in it is that the representatives of Barqa want to choose the President of the Presidency Council without passing the names of the candidates to the members of the Political Dialogue Forum, provided that the representatives of Barqa participate in choosing the Prime Minister, and this is not fair."

She explained that the initial agreement was made for the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Defense to be under the supervision of the Prime Minister, who is called by the Presidential Council together.

The sources emphasized that it was agreed that the drafting committee would present the political dialogue with a consensual formula regarding not prejudice to any agreement in the preliminary stage, and not concluding any new agreements, in addition to moving away from considering existing agreements before the general elections after 18 months, in light of objections from some Representatives of retired Major General Khalifa Haftar.

The members of the drafting committee agreed in political dialogue - according to the source - that the general amnesty law would be conditional on transitional justice, in addition to reviewing and activating the general amnesty law.

The sources reported that the drafting committee agreed to refer the constitutional path to the relevant authorities in the Constitution Authority, the House of Representatives and the state to agree on a formula within 60 days, and if they fail, the matter will return to the Forum for Political Dialogue to decide on it.

She stated that the attendees at the forum agreed to complete Bouznika consultations between the House of Representatives Committee and the state to agree on the designation of the sovereign positions within 60 days, taking into account that the positions of the Attorney General and the President of the Supreme Court are not subject to the quota system of the regions, and observance of the laws in force in their regard.

The United Nations Acting Envoy to Libya Stephanie Williams announced that the participants in the Libyan political talks meeting in Tunis agreed to hold parliamentary and presidential elections on December 24 of next year.

Williams said that the challenge now is to implement the Military Committee's plan to start removing the military elements from the central region of the country and some foreign elements present, asking the concerned countries and the elements of these forces to respect the will of the Libyans.

And Williams had announced earlier that the transition would last for 18 months.

The Libyan political dialogue concludes its first round tomorrow, Sunday, according to what Libyan parties present at the forum announced.

The United Nations Mission in Libya sponsors the Libyan political dialogue, which began on November 8th in the Tunisian capital, Tunis.
