Ten deaths due to Covid-19 in a Lyon nursing home

In Lyon, a cluster of 44 positive cases for Covid-19 was detected in an nursing home, where 10 deaths have already been identified since the beginning of November, we learned this Friday from the town hall.

Containment has been established at the nursing home Marius Bertrand, in the 4th arrondissement, after the discovery of 32 positive cases among residents and 12 among agents, announced during a press briefing the EELV mayor of Lyon Grégory Doucet .

Family visits interrupted

Since November 4, date of the first positive tests, ten deaths are to be deplored in this establishment of 80 residents.

Due to the confinement in place, family visits are interrupted in the establishment, except for residents at the end of their life, added the councilor.

Grégory Doucet, on the other hand, announced that the confinement had been lifted at the L'Etoile du jour nursing home, in the 5th arrondissement of Lyon, where 30 residents had tested positive in early September.

Thanks to this measure, "the worst has been avoided", assures the elected official.

He also indicated that of the 17 residences for seniors in the city, eight had discovered cases of coronavirus and therefore had been placed in confinement.

In total, 18 residents have tested positive out of a total of 850. Several of them had to be hospitalized but no death is to be deplored for the moment, he said.
