November 13, 2020Alexei Dudoladov, a university student of the naval transport faculty, who lives in a village in the province of Omsk, southwestern Siberia, takes remote online classes on a birch.

At his faculty there is the obligation to attend and you must confirm your presence on the Zoom platform.

The boy lives in a village of 18 houses with 48 inhabitants, and the providers are not interested in installing the repeaters.

At the boy's house the speed is 2G, which does not allow connection on Zoom.

In the nearby woods the signal is stronger, but you have to climb to the top of a tree, and so the diligent student climbs a birch every day and takes lessons at a height of 8 meters above the ground.

As long as the weather was good, in May, Alexei did not complain, but with the arrival of the frost he had bipolar pneumonia, and losing his patience, he recorded a video message to the governor on top of the birch, asking him to intervene to ensure the fast internet.

The video went viral and the university administration came to meet the student, proposing to send him lessons and assignments by e-mail.

However, the student refused the generous offer because he will always have to climb a tree to read the emails.
