On Thursday evening, the Qatari Ministry of Interior announced the arrest of 5 people and their referral to the judiciary after they circulated electronic content on social media calling for stirring tribal strife.

The ministry said, through its official account on Twitter, that after verifying the information and identifying its sources and providing the necessary evidence, the detainees were referred to the Public Prosecution Office to complete the legal procedures against them.

They are being referred to the Public Prosecution to take its measures against them, in accordance with the provisions of the laws in force, and the Ministry of Interior affirms here that it will not be complacent in taking all legal measures against anyone who adopts a racist discourse against the unity and cohesion of the Qatari society, and threatening its security, stability and social peace

The Ministry called on users of social media platforms in Qatar to abide by the laws, and not to offend any component within society on tribal or racial grounds.

In a statement, the ministry warned all segments of society on "the necessity of adhering to national cohesion and avoiding stirring up strife and strife among all members of society."
