The decision was made even after anxious preschool staff in Eskilstuna expressed the desire for protective equipment.

Something that the trade union Kommunal started receiving signals about just over a week ago.

Coronakit is used as a last resort

From Thursday, all 53 preschools in Eskilstuna municipality can order a kit with mouth guard, visor, long-sleeved aprons and surface disinfection.

The kit should be used after the staff has completed a web-based training.

But also as step three, after first taking two other measures.

- We have made a risk ladder.

When a child shows symptoms, you should first look at whether you can be out waiting for the parent.

If it does not work, it is number two that you have a room to go to and wait.

Number three is the preschool kit, says Tina Persson, head of the preschool in Eskilstuna municipality.

Each preschool makes its own decisions

The protective equipment is thus intended to be used sparingly and as a last resort.

In the end, however, it is each preschool that decides how and when staff should wear, for example, mouth guards.

- I do not think that you should have mouth guards in the everyday activities for children and staff are healthy when we come to preschool.

But it is individual based on the conversation between the principal and the employee.

We are very many employees and it can look different, says Tina Persson.
