(Fighting New Coronary Pneumonia) New York State tightens epidemic prevention measures

China News Agency, New York, November 13-New York State tightened its anti-epidemic measures again on the 13th, and restaurants, bars and gyms in the state must be closed before 10 pm from that day.

New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo introduced the latest situation in the state during a conference call that day.

On the 12th, New York State completed more than 203,700 new coronavirus tests, of which 5401 cases were positive, and the positive rate was about 2.65%.

However, in areas where cluster infections occurred, the positive rate reached 4.58%.

There are currently 1,737 patients hospitalized for new coronary pneumonia, and 24 deaths were reported on the 12th.

Cuomo said the virus is still spreading, and the number of cases in several states near New York has increased significantly.

Despite the recent progress of the new crown vaccine, it is too early to hope for the vaccine, and strengthening prevention and control is still a top priority.

Cuomo said that this weekend he will hold an emergency meeting with governors of neighboring states to discuss epidemic prevention matters.

In addition to restricting business hours such as restaurants, New York State also stipulates that from the 13th, indoor gatherings of more than 10 people cannot be held in the state.

As the region with the earliest outbreak in the United States, New York State’s epidemic prevention measures once achieved remarkable results. Since mid-June, the single-day virus test positive rate has remained at about 1%.

However, the number of new cases in a single day began to rise in late October, and it has accelerated since November.

This week, New York State has more than 4,000 new cases in a single day for 3 consecutive days.

New York Mayor Bai Sihao said on the same day that public schools in the city may stop on-site teaching from the 16th, and parents should be prepared for remote teaching.

Data on the 13th showed that the 7-day average of New York City's new coronavirus test positive rate has risen to 2.83%.

De Blasio previously stated that if the target reaches 3%, the city's public school system will be closed again.

But Bai Sihao also said that the closure of the school will be temporary, and the government will take measures to try to reopen the school.

According to the New York Times, there were more than 150,000 new cases in the United States on the 12th. At present, more than 67,000 people have been hospitalized. On average, about 1,000 Americans have died of new coronary pneumonia every day in the past week.

Unlike this spring, the number of cases in almost all regions of the United States is currently on the rise, and the situation may be more severe than in the spring.
