According to reports, the arrested leader was named Shaban, who has dual citizenship of Sweden and Iran.
Prior to this, Shaban had participated in many terrorist attacks and was accused of participating in a military parade against Iran in 2018.
Of the 25 people killed in the attack, nearly half were members of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
The report pointed out that before Shaban was arrested, he was planning to launch new attacks in the Iranian capital Tehran and Khuzestan, but they were all blocked by Iranian intelligence.
According to reports, Shaban belongs to a separatist organization called the "Awaz National Resistance Movement", which has been seeking to establish an "independent state" in the oil-rich southwestern province of Khuzestan.
