Toward the establishment of the Digital Agency, experts from government working groups have put together a recommendation that a command tower with budget and authority should be used to drive the digitization of the economy and society as a whole.
According to the recommendations of the experts of the government working group, the digital agency aiming to be newly established should not only be a function to realize the digitization of administrative services, but also a command tower that will drive the digitization of the economy and society as a whole.
To that end, we are asking the Digital Agency to grant budgets and authority.
We also request that the revision of the "IT Basic Law," which stipulates the basic policy of IT policy, be considered from the perspective of reforming the structure of the digital society from the perspective of the people and allowing each individual to participate in the digital society with peace of mind.
In response to the proposal, Minister of State for Digital Reform Hirai said, "We would like to gather a wide range of human resources who can do a great job for the world at the'Digital Agency'."
The working group will summarize the ideas regarding the establishment of the Digital Agency and the revision of the "IT Basic Law" by the end of this month.
