[Commentary] On November 11, the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council held a regular press conference.

A reporter from Taiwan asked at the meeting whether the PLA military planes frequently appear in the air defense identification zone in southwest Taiwan, whether they intend to maintain or aggravate the tension in the Taiwan Strait?

Zhu Fenglian, a spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, responded to this.

The relevant actions of the People's Liberation Army are necessary to address the current security situation across the Taiwan Strait and the need to maintain national sovereignty, and are a solemn response to the provocative actions of the DPP authorities for "Taiwan independence".

[Commentary] Zhu Fenglian emphasized that not recognizing that she is a Chinese, engaging in "Taiwan independence" and expecting protection from external forces will only cause historical mistakes and catastrophic consequences.

The determination and will of the people on both sides of the strait in safeguarding national sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as our preparations and capabilities, the DPP authorities and the "Taiwan independence" separatist forces must not be underestimated, must not be provocative, and must not be risky.

[Explanation] Another reporter mentioned that based on the recent intensification of the Democratic Progressive Party’s efforts to seek "independence" and link up with external forces, some voices suggested "promoting peace with war and reunification with force."

In response, Zhu Fenglian said:

We are consistent and clear on the policies of National Taiwan University.

The peaceful development of cross-strait relations is the mainstream public opinion on both sides of the strait, and national reunification is an inevitable requirement for national rejuvenation.

We are willing to do our utmost sincerely and do our utmost to strive for the prospect of peaceful reunification, and to achieve reunification in a peaceful way is most beneficial to the compatriots on both sides of the strait and the whole nation.

At the same time, our determination to defend national sovereignty and territorial integrity is unwavering and will never leave any room for any form of "Taiwan independence" separatist activities.

On the map of China, there is nothing less; China’s territory will not be lost at all.
