The International Society of Arab Poets began Wednesday evening a seminar entitled "Memory of the Carnation 2", which will last for 5 days.
35 Arab poets and poets from 14 Arab and Islamic countries, including Palestine, Syria, Algeria, Morocco, Sudan, Turkey and Senegal, will participate in the symposium, through visual communication in light of the Corona pandemic.
The symposium's title, "Memory of the Cloves," has rich connotations. Everything has a memory, and the memory of smell is spent in the conscience. As for the carnations, it has a fragrant nectar.
The managing director of the Syrian poet Abdul Rahman Abu Ras told Anadolu Agency, "Turkey has become a fertile and safe haven for many Arab intellectuals, writers and bloggers to express freely that Arab intellectuals lack in their countries."
"Language is a nation, and a nation without the citizen does not denote the true significance of the idea that we call it home," he added.
He continued that the importance of any activity stems from the need to create a reality that identifies with the aspirations of man and his belonging to this or that reality in every time and place in different aspects of life, and what the motive for writing is but an attempt to embody the language.
Abu Ras explained that for the expatriate writing, writing is a renewed formation of the idea of the homeland, since poets have worked since the pre-Islamic era to stand on its ruins.
He added, "In our Arab world, expression has become dependent on the scissors of the censor, who practices rioting against the liberation imagination of the active Arab intellectual, not the intellectual of tiles."
He believed that poetry is the "solid bridge" between the emigrant and his homeland, because of the meanings of poetry, so poetry is "the Arab divan by which he chronicled himself and chronicled himself at the same time, affecting the ocean and being affected by it."
Whereas, the Egyptian poet Dr. Sayed Abdel-Razzaq said that "had it not been for anxiety and confusion, the poets would not have existed ... We are the children of psychological alienation, and we are the children of confusion. So are the poets."
And he read from the verses of a poem:
I am the first to survive their conquests
But I was not saved from my mistakes
I surrendered myself to white and to me
I cured my light with black visions
The Syrian poet Rayman Yasmine considered that "motherhood nourishes poetry. It is not more beautiful for a poet to see his children read and repeat his poetry, as motherhood inspires poetry."
And Yasmine sang:
Let him take pleasure in death whoever stays silence
We are children of rhymes do not die
We are for the days a verb present
Arabized in the case of raising proof
The International Association of Arab Poets was launched from the Turkish city of Istanbul in 2018, in conjunction with the holding of the first Arab Poetry Festival at the Faculty of Theology at Marmara University in the city.
