The Secretary-General of the Lebanese Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah, called for not to place high hopes on the administration of US President-elect Joe Biden with regard to the Middle East files.

Nasrallah added, in a speech on the occasion of "Hezbollah's martyr" day, yesterday evening, Wednesday, that the first constant of the successive American administrations is the interest of Israel.

Nasrallah called on what he described as the axis of resistance for vigilance and extreme caution to confront any possible US or Israeli aggression during the last two months of US President Donald Trump's term.

Demarcation of the border

Regarding the demarcation of the border between Lebanon and Israel, the Secretary-General of Hezbollah said that the state decides on the borders of Lebanon.

Nasrallah added, "The state, with its institutions, decides where the land and sea borders of Lebanon are, and the resistance is committed to what the state determines, and considers that it is its duty, along with the army and the people, to defend these borders. This is still our position. It has not changed."

He pointed out that "the file of demarcating the borders with Israel is one of the achievements and fruits of the blood of the martyrs and the sacrifices of the resistance fighters."

He added, "The only thing we have asked for is indirect negotiations only on demarcating the border."

He declared that "the file of negotiations is isolated from the path of normalization in the region, and all that is said about negotiations between Hezbollah and Israel under the table and between Iran and Israel and between Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, the Israelis and Hamas are just lies and illusions and have no basis in truth."
