More and more couples with children, young people, foreign families have less than 9 euros per day to live.
Once all the constrained expenses have been deducted, namely rent, water, electricity, the children's canteen, transport, for many increasingly poor families, food becomes a real headache.
Hence the recourse for some families to food aid to stop being hungry.
An alarming situation for Secours Catholique.
2020 is the year of all dangers: with loss of income, unemployment for some, while others face isolation due to confinement or are affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
For the Catholic Relief there is therefore an emergency.
The association calls for the creation of a guaranteed minimum income for all, ie 890 euros per month and per person.
Poverty increases among the youngest
Young people are very affected, whereas until now, especially before the crisis, young people made do with small jobs, seasonal work and then suddenly they have nothing.
