Based on these recommendations, the government has decided to urgently develop a crisis management system for infectious diseases, promote law revisions to smoothly share information on health centers, and play a role as a command tower for the entire government. For new posts, the government will focus on selecting experts who are familiar with infectious disease control, and is considering making them special civil servants in the future.
Furthermore, in addition to increasing the number of personnel at the National Institute of Infectious Diseases, the government is considering expanding the permanent capacity of health centers and the dispatch system of cluster groups of the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, and will start in earnest from next year.
