María Fernanda, is 45 years old and has two children, 23 and 19 years old.
The three, of Ecuadorian nationality, have been close to being poisoned by the 70-year-old woman to whom
they had rented a room in her house on Río Duero street in Móstoles.
The tenant, a Uruguayan woman named Teresa, has been detained by the National Police on charges of attempted murder.
Specifically, he seasoned the family's food with insecticide for several months.
And he also tossed the boys' lemon soda with bleach.
The two boys ended up in hospital after suffering dizziness and nausea.
One of them needed an IV and a stomach cleanse.
The arrested woman is at liberty although
with a restraining order from the family.
"It was killing us little by little," explained Maria Fernanda yesterday, who began to suspect the poisoning at the end of last year, specifically in November.

We began to notice something strange in the food.
The food had a strange taste
, it tasted bad, but since I had doubts, I blamed an excess in the seasoning when I made it, ”the woman told this newspaper.
However, his two sons and his nephew alerted him that the kitchen reeked of insecticide and bleach.
"At first we had no health problems, but over time
the headaches and dizziness came and last summer I had to transfer my young son to the emergency room with vomiting
and severe stomach pain," says Fernanda, who at that time was already unhinged with the tenant.
"I told her to go away and I spoke with a lawyer, but he told me that I could not kick her out and
it occurred to us to install hidden cameras in the kitchen to try to see if it was true that she intoxicated us
," continues María Fernanda.
The woman spent 150 euros on two small cameras.
"She was very ill and anguished, it was the only thing we could do to catch her," said Fernanda.
First, he put the recording device on a shelf and saw how the detainee took insecticide and supposedly put it in a soda and a chicken.
“It didn't look good at all and we decided to put it on the ceiling.
That was when we saw how he
put the Ducal insecticide on rice and other liquids,
”says the woman.
In addition to the recordings, the Scientific Police also took remains of the supposedly adulterated food and
found the toxic products in rice and in a drink
.
With the decisive evidence, the tenant was arrested and the judge ordered her removal from the family.
María Fernanda confesses that when she suspected that the food was poisoned, they only consumed what they opened and made themselves.
Without still recovering from what happened, Fernanda recalls that at the beginning the coexistence with Teresa, the detainee, was magnificent.
“She was a very close woman that you could talk to, but then she got angry about strange things and
started accusing my son of sexual harassment saying that he went into his room at night.
She also said that my son would come into the kitchen at night and put his hand under her skirt.
She went with these complaints to the social worker and she went home.
We talked to her and told her that it was not true and that Teresa was not well.
The social worker agreed with us, ”she continues.
The victim and her children believe that
the woman has a mental problem.
"It is the only explanation I give her to justify her trying to kill the three of us, since we always treat her very well," says the woman who hopes that the torment she has suffered has not happened to anyone else before.
