Hanane al-Barassi was shot on Tuesday with 30 bullets fired at point blank range, in the middle of Bouachrine Street, one of Benghazi's main commercial arteries.
This lawyer had always refused to be silent in the face of crimes, their perpetrators and the logic of armed gangs despite the death threats that the latter had addressed to her on several occasions.
"
I'm not afraid,
" the activist said the day before her death, in a video denouncing the corruption of Saddam Khalifa Haftar, son of the Marshal and an officer in his army.
She also promised to give more details soon.
His daughter already targeted
Last year, for several months, she had already been imprisoned by Khalifa Haftar's forces, again because of her positions.
But being from a large tribe in the East, she had been released.
Her daughter, Hanine, was also worried following her mother's fighting.
She, too, was recently the victim of an assassination attempt.
Hanane al-Barassi was buried the same day in a cemetery in his town.

martyrdom of truth

criticized the corruption of several individuals affiliated with armed groups in eastern Libya
".
The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (Manul) also condemned the assassination of the Libyan lawyer, calling on the authorities to act to “
end impunity
”.
