The Ministry of the Interior announces five new approaches by ETA prisoners to prisons in the Basque Country, including

Mikel Azurmendi Peñagaricano

, sentenced to more than 400 years in prison as a member of

the Madrid command

.

Azurmendi is involved in five murders perpetrated in the capital of Spain.

The Ministry of Fernando Grande-Maarlaska has notified that in the next few dates

José Ángel Lerín Sánchez

will be transferred

from the Puerto I prison in Cádiz to the Zuera prison in Zaragoza.

He is serving a 25-year sentence for the crimes of collaboration with an armed gang, havoc, and depositing weapons and ammunition.

Likewise,

Oskarbi Jáuregui Amundarain

will be transferred from the Teixeiro Penitentiary Center, in La Coruña, to the San Sebastián Penitentiary Center.

Amundarain is serving a 31-year sentence for collaboration with an armed gang, possession of explosives, attempted murder, deposit of weapons and falsification of a public document.

Another transfer will be

Maite Pedrosa Barrenechea

, who will be transferred from Valencia to Zaragoza.

He is serving a sentence of 230 years, 38 months and 12 days for the crimes of collaboration with an armed gang, attacks, assassination attempts, possession of explosives and weapons storage.

Mikel Azurmendi Peñagaricano will go from Valencia to Zaragoza.

He entered prison on March 25, 1998 and is serving a sentence of 416 years, 32 months and 18 days for the crimes of terrorism, homicides and murders.

Oier Andueza Anchía

, the fifth of those sent to Basque prisons, will be transferred from the Murcia II Penitentiary Center to the Basauri prison, in Bilbao.

He entered prison on February 23, 2001 and is serving a 20-year prison sentence for the crime of attempted murder.
