According to this, as of November 9, 23,755 clinics nationwide have been designated as medical institutions that provide medical care and examinations for patients with fever, etc., and the system will continue to be improved.
On top of that, at the peak of the influenza epidemic, the outlook for "test demand" including patients with fever caused by the new coronavirus is estimated to be up to about 460,000 per day.
On the other hand, the "sample collection capacity" and "testing capacity" are expected to be secured at a maximum of about 500,000 and 540,000, respectively, per day, including those that are scheduled to be expanded in the future.
The Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare says, "Although we have secured the inspection ability numerically, we would like to continue to work on maintenance in cooperation with prefectures so that it will actually function."
