Marcus Thuram, son of Lilian, entered Wednesday against Finland in the small circle of French internationals from father to son, a rarity in history also experienced in other selections.

More than twelve years after his last appearance in Blue, the record holder of selections for the French team Lilian Thuram (142 caps between 1994 and 2008) sees his son Marcus take up the family torch during a friendly match Wednesday night against Finland at the Stade of France.

The current Mönchengladbach striker and the 1998 world champion are thus walking in the footsteps of six previous dynasties among the Blues.

- Roger (18 caps) then Patrice Rio (17 caps): the ex-FC Rouen striker and the ex-defender of Nantes both wore the blue jersey in the World Cup, the father in 1934 and the son in 1978.

André (Swansea / English 2nd division) is the current captain of Jordan (Crystal Palace) in the Ghanaian selection.
