According to Putin, in recent years, new missile and aviation systems have been supplied to the army and navy as a priority, and the share of modern weapons in the strategic nuclear forces is 82%.

As the head of state emphasized, Russia will continue to "maintain its nuclear potential at the level of required sufficiency."

In addition, Putin noted that Russia will not be drawn into an "exhausting arms race." 

At the end of 2019, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu announced the strengthening of the air part of the Russian nuclear triad by updating and modernizing equipment.
