Five months after opening a vast preliminary investigation following an influx of complaints, the public health pole of the Paris prosecutor's office decided to transmit its investigations to investigating judges so that they could prosecute them.

Four separate judicial inquiries were opened on Tuesday to uncover possible criminal offenses.

Justice will deepen its examination of possible dysfunctions in the management of the Covid-19 crisis in France.

Four judicial inquiries were opened against X for "voluntary abstention from fighting a disaster", "endangering the life of others" and "homicides and involuntary injuries".

These instructions include 253 of the 328 complaints that the Paris prosecutor has received since March 24 and which implicate national decision-makers and public structures, the statement said.

This judicial information will indeed examine the administrative responsibilities.

The case of members of the government is the subject of a separate investigation, led by the Court of Justice of the Republic, which alone is empowered to judge them for the exercise of their function.

The first investigations and in particular the hearing of the main complainants therefore led the prosecution to distinguish four aspects.

The first open investigation brings together most of the complainants, 240 to date, and relates to "acts allegedly committed to the detriment of the population in general".

The second concerns possible acts committed to the prejudice of health personnel, which are the subject of five complaints.

Finally, the third and fourth instructions, each based on four complaints, deal with the damage allegedly suffered by State civil servants for both sick and deceased persons.
