The administration of the outgoing US President Donald Trump continues to reject the election result, while the positions of Republicans are divided between supporters and opponents, leaving ambiguity dominating the scene.

Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer said, "On January 20 (the date for the inauguration of the new president) we will finish one of the most divisive and chaotic chapters."

On the other hand, Senate Republican Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said, "I do not recognize Joe Biden as president nor Camala Harris as his deputy."

Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham also said in an interview with Fox News that President Trump should not declare the loss in the election.

However, 30 former Republican lawmakers called on Trump to accept the election results and stop what they described as baseless allegations.

Lack of recognition

For his part, Rudy Giuliani, President Trump's personal lawyer, called for not to recognize the outcome of the presidential election in which Biden declared his victory, and confirmed that there are strong facts about fraud in a number of states.

Giuliani announced that the Trump campaign will file new lawsuits in these states.

The Axios website quoted Republican Party leaders close to Trump as saying that the legal battle to overturn President-elect Joe Biden's victory could last a month or more.

The website also quoted those close to Trump as saying that the latter has no plans to call for national unity, and that there are internal efforts to dissuade Trump from continuing the attack in the same way as his lawyer Giuliani.

In the same context, the White House spokeswoman accused Democrats of circumventing the constitution, stressing that Trump campaign observers were prevented from entering some screening centers.

She added that the Democrats "took advantage of the Corona pandemic as a natural disaster and turned it into a national disaster."

On the other hand, CNN reported that the Trump campaign advisor charged with overseeing election appeals, David Bossi, had contracted the Corona virus.

CNN quoted a number of US administration officials as saying that the National Security Council has not yet received any directives regarding the upcoming transfer of power, and one official said that he believed things would be chaotic.

According to the network, it is customary for the National Security Council to carry out early transfer procedures, as it is the authority concerned with leading the process that will be followed by other agencies, and the council works in a sensitive intelligence field that requires a special protocol during the presidential transition period.

While Biden's transition team awaits federal guidance, NSC officials say they have not received any guidance from National Security Adviser Robert O'Brien, whose term will expire, about their job status or how to proceed in the coming months.

He denied fraud and

Geoff Duncan, deputy governor of Georgia, said in an interview with "CNN" that his office had not seen any documented cases of election fraud or depriving voters of their right to vote in the state.

Duncan said that the counting of votes is still continuing, and that the validation of the results will likely take place this week.

Although the major American media announced Biden's victory in the presidential elections, they have not yet announced the final winner in 4 states, which are Alaska, Arizona, Georgia and North Carolina.

Biden has so far obtained 290 of the votes of the top electorate, compared with only 214 votes for Trump, and even if the latter wins all the remaining four states, he will not be able to reach the 270 vote threshold required to win the presidency.
