Police chief in Arkansas, southern United States, had to resign after calling for the killing of Democratic "traitors" on social media in the wake of Joe Biden's election victory presidential.

Lang Holland, police chief of the small town of Marshall, had let his rage against the election of Joe Biden explode on Speak, a popular social network of the American far right.

"Never let them forget that they are traitors and that they have no right to live in this Republic after what they have done," he wrote, according to a screenshot from one of his messages which had been withdrawn Monday.

“Death to all Marxist Democrats!” Proclaimed another message, “Don't take prisoners, don't leave any survivors”.

Threats to Obama and Clinton

Another post from this notable Marshall, about 180 km north of Little Rock, the capital of Arkansas, featured an image of Democrats, including Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, in prison garb with the caption: " I pray that everyone in this picture will be hanged and quartered !!!

"

Lang Holland resigned over the weekend due to emotion over his calls for violence.

"The City of Marshall does not support or condone intimidation or threats of violence against anyone, regardless of political orientation," Mayor Kevin Elliott said in a statement.

“We are a welcoming community that humbly tries to build a bright future for ALL of our fellow citizens,” he insisted.
