2.51 million people volunteered to register for organ donation in 10 years

  Our newspaper, Beijing, November 8th (Reporter Ye Zi) On November 7th, the Red Cross Society of China held a publicity event for the 10th anniversary of the national organ donation work of "Relay of Life·Save by Your Side" in Hangzhou, Zhejiang.

On behalf of the Chinese Red Cross, Liang Huiling, Executive Vice President of the Red Cross Society of China, paid high respects to human organ donors and their families.

  The human organ donation work in China started as a pilot program in 2010. In the past 10 years, the total number of volunteer registrations for organ donation across the country has reached 2.51 million, and more than 30,000 people have completed organ donations after their deaths. The organs they donated have saved more than 90,000 lives.

  At the event site, organ transplant doctors, human organ donation coordinators, volunteers, organ transplant recipients and other witnesses respectively told about "10 years of organ donation and I".

Students from Wenzhou Medical University performed a poem recitation "One Person's Team", telling the story of the 17-year-old boy Ye Sha, an organ donor.

Organ transplant recipients and five members of the "One Man Band" played the song "Feeling Life", expressing their gratitude to the 27-year-old Australian youth Philip, the organ donor.

Human organ donation love ambassador Zheng Peiqin performed the song "You are in the crowd" and issued a love initiative to appeal to the public to pay attention to and support the cause of human organ donation.
