08 November 2020In the European GP on the Valencia track, Joan Mir wins his first victory in front of his companion of Suzuki Rins and Pol Espargaro's KTM and puts a mortgage on the title two races from the end of the World Championship.

Rossi returns to compete almost a month after the French GP (11 October, then the stop due to the positivity at Covid) but his conditions cannot be optimal and he starts 17th.

Pol Espargarò immediately very well and Rins' great progression.

The leader of the World Mir begins to rise immediately.

Vinales sprints 5 seconds after they have all passed through the pit lane.

On the first lap, Quartararo and Aleix Espargaro crashed.

On the sixth lap Bagnaia crashed and went out into turn 2. Technical problems for Rossi and Bagnaia crash. Rins and Mir's Suzuki leads, while Morbidelli didn't seem to keep pace.

Sunday to forget for the factory Yamahas: Rossi retires after the breakdown, Vinales (who started from the pit lane) is behind.

For the first time in his career Rossi slips 4 races without points.

The only one who seems to keep up with the Suzuki pace is Pol Espargaro.

Rossi's bitter observation from the garage: “I was picking up pace then when I tried to open the throttle it broke”.

Mir continues to push more and more trying to increase the gap from team mate Rins while Espargaro struggles and is tailed by Nakagami's Honda in turn threatened by Oliveira.

Four laps from the end of the crash for Alex Marquez who leaves the position to Dovizioso (the Ducati rider will finish eighth), but the race is animated by the leading quartet with an unleashed Mir who goes to take the victory and perhaps the title.

The gap from the top widens for Fabio Quartararo who closes fourteenth and now has 37 points behind the Spanish Suzuki and is reached by Rins with the same score.
