The statements of a member of the Sovereignty Council, Lieutenant-General Shams El-Din Al-Kabbashi, in which he declared his rejection of the "secular state", sparked mixed reactions on communication sites in Sudan.

Al-Kabbashi had confirmed his rejection of the Sudanese Prime Minister Abdullah Hamdok signing an agreement of principles with the head of the Popular Movement in North Abdel Aziz Al-Hilu, which stipulates the secularism of the state.

Al-Kabbashi said in statements to the local Al-Youm Al-Youm newspaper that both the Prime Minister and Chairman of the Sovereignty Council Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan and the President of the Popular Movement North Abdulaziz Al-Hilu do not have the right to resolve the issue of secular statehood.

Kabbashi pointed out that the signing of the principles agreement that Hamdok signed with Al-Hilu was done individually by the prime minister, considering it a "violation of state institutions."

Tweeters welcomed Al-Kabbashi’s comments, stressing that he remained an anti-secular voice in the country.

While others expressed their rejection of the expression he used as the signature of the Agreement of Principles between Hamdok and Al-Hilu that it was inconsistent with institutionalization, while decisions were taken on important issues in which no one was consulted, such as the issue of normalization with Israel.

Last September, Hamdok signed with Al-Hilu, in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa, a declaration of principles on the relationship of religion with the state and the right to self-determination, to break the deadlock in peace negotiations.

The SPLM / A has been fighting government forces in South Kordofan and Blue Nile states since June 2011.

The movement demands that “secularism be an explicit text in the country's constitution,” or recognition of the right to self-determination for the states of Blue Nile (southeast) and South Kordofan (south).

If the president were someone who was not praising you, we would have expected him to ask the Security Committee to dismiss Kabashi and replace him.

Or he resigns immediately.

The issue of separating religion from the state is agreed upon by most of the left-wing parties, armed movements, and even the parties of the Sudanese Congress and the Federal Rally in addition to the government.

It shall be approved by the Legislative Council "if it is formed", regardless of Kabbashi’s opinion. Https://t.co/hNqan7SIfM

Kabashi of the anti-secularization voice must be extremely careful and vigilant in order to protect his life ... especially after the Israelis entered in public and in the daytime.
