A fire broke out this Friday morning in a residential building located on avenue des acacias, near boulevard Guist'hau, in downtown Nantes.
The fire broke out shortly before 6.30 am in an apartment located on the second floor of this building which has five.
Alerted by residents, Loire-Atlantique firefighters intervened quickly.
Unfortunately, a woman was found lifeless in the accommodation.
She was about 70 years old, reports the departmental fire and rescue service.
The fire was extinguished using a large fire hose.
An investigation has been opened.
