Premier Li Keqiang of the State Council presided over an executive meeting of the State Council on November 6 to determine measures to strengthen the guarantee of fiscal and people’s livelihood expenditures, and to enhance the sense and sustainability of the benefit-benefiting policy; deploy the combination of winter new crown pneumonia epidemic prevention and control and other disease prevention to carry out patriotic health movement.
The meeting pointed out that since the beginning of this year, the epidemic has had a greater impact on the employment, income, and life of low-income people, including migrant workers, poor households, and flexible employees.
All regions and departments earnestly implemented the deployment of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, drastically reduced government expenditures, and increased basic people’s livelihood security. In the first three quarters, pensions and retirees per capita increased by 8.7% year-on-year, and social relief and subsidies increased by 12.9%.
