At the initiative of the government, many community actors but also representatives of the Malian state will work for four days to try to find a solution to the problems which have been plaguing the area for several weeks.

The case of Farabougou

In particular, the case of Farabougou, a village surrounded for a month by jihadist fighters against a backdrop of conflict between traditional Dozo hunters and the Fulani community, will be discussed.

But Farabougou is not the only file on the table.

For months, and again in recent days, several localities in

the Niono circle have

experienced sometimes deadly inter-community tensions.

The circle has also suffered, in the recent past, terrorist attacks, claimed by the Support Group for Islam and Muslims, linked to al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (Aqmi).

And the "

displaced

 "

I also want to talk about the displaced

", indicates a mayor who will participate in the work, and who recalls that several thousand people have fled their homes to escape clashes or for fear of reprisals.

The security forces - army, police, gendarmerie - are also invited to the discussions which will be held until Sunday.
