As recently as Wednesday afternoon, the news came that no new local restrictions will be introduced in Norrbotten, but now, just a day later, the spread of covid-19 is beginning to reach horror levels, according to the infection control doctor.

"It pulls away"

- It really pulls away.

Especially in Luleå and Piteå.

People must understand that there is a societal infection.

Now that we track infection, it is difficult to follow the infection chains as very many do not know how and where they have become infected, says Anders Nystedt.

"Advice sounds nice - but everyone has an obligation"

The infection control doctor will have renewed contact with the Swedish Public Health Agency to discuss the situation in Norrbotten.

- I think that next week we will go out with new advice that must be followed.

Advice sounds nice but it is every individual's

duty

to follow.

For example, to avoid public transport, not go to parties, or stand close to people in the city.

It is important not to be close to anyone other than those in the immediate family.

Restrictions in stores

Anders Nystedt will next week have a meeting with, among others, the county administrative board and others concerned to discuss restrictions on business.

- One way is to ensure that the stores only let in a certain number at a time, as Systembolaget already does, says Anders Nystedt.
