The earthquake and tsunami in the Aegean Sea between Turkey and Greece have ended the Turkish government's search for missing persons.

To date, 116 deaths have been confirmed in both countries.

On the 30th of last month, a magnitude 7.0 earthquake with an epicenter in the Aegean Sea between Turkey and Greece caused a tsunami, and in Izmir province in western Turkey, which was the most damaged, 17 places where buildings collapsed were lost. A search for the unknown has been carried out.



The Turkish government announced the end of the search on the 4th.



In the disaster area,


114 people were confirmed dead and 1035 injured in Turkey, including one who was swept away by the tsunami, and in


Samos, Greece, near the epicenter, a teenager. Two men and women were killed and 19 were injured.



According to the Turkish government, 180 buildings in Izmir province may collapse in the future, so it is necessary to demolish them, and many residents who have evacuated are currently evacuating in more than 3000 tents.



The Turkish government wants to build new homes so that victims can move in within a year.



There have been frequent earthquakes in Turkey, with a magnitude 6.7 earthquake in the east in January killing 41 people.
