His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, at the beginning of his speech, said: “It is my pleasure to convey to you the greetings of the leadership of the United Arab Emirates, in the forefront of which is His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and President of the State The Cabinet, Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.
His Highness added: “I would like to confirm that the UAE is keen to develop and strengthen its bilateral relations with brotherly and friendly countries, and to build bridges of communication and cooperation with them in a way that serves the interests and aspirations of our countries and peoples, and contributes to the efforts of development, development and progress in various levels, as the UAE has established a solid base of Distinguished relations with brotherly and friendly countries, through their approaches and policies based on mutual respect, trust, constructive cooperation and the promotion of global peace and stability.

His Highness added: “Based on the decision of the wise leadership in the UAE, I am pleased to announce the opening of a general consulate of the United Arab Emirates in the Moroccan city of Laayoune, and in this regard I would like to point out that this step is a translation of long-established historical Emirati-Moroccan relations and of a strategic partnership based on The highest levels, established by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and King Hassan II, since 1971, and strengthened with the participation of the UAE in the Green March.
His Highness continued, saying: “It is also a continuation of the brilliant march of the unity of destiny and continuous cooperation. I have been keen to support and develop the leaderships of the two countries, and have documented a record of excellence. The opening of the UAE consulate in El-Ayoun will be one of the positive results of the solid relationship that binds the two brotherly countries. In the Moroccan region, a major push is made at the level of bilateral relations between the two countries, in order to advance them to broader horizons.
His Highness added that «the UAE appreciates the pioneering role of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the King of the brotherly Kingdom of Morocco, in continuing coordination and consultation with the leadership of the UAE in everything that would achieve security, stability and peace in the region, and in pushing towards support for international and international efforts to resolve conflicts and crises on the ground. His Highness praised the level of communication and coordination between senior officials in the two countries, and the active role in bringing the bilateral relationship to the distinct levels it has reached in various fields, and his Highness stressed the importance of continuing the existing coordination between the two countries in regional and international forums, and at the level of bilateral relations.
At the end of his speech, His Highness expressed his hope that the UAE consulate in El-Ayoun will play an important role in promoting positive opportunities towards expanding areas of common interest and deepening the channels of bilateral cooperation between us.
For his part, the modern ambassador, Saeed Ahmed Al Dhaheri, affirmed that the inauguration of the UAE Consulate General in El-Ayoun, Morocco, confirms the constant and sincere keenness of the wise leadership in the UAE to strengthen relations of brotherhood and solidarity with the brotherly Kingdom of Morocco, and a tangible and effective expression of the UAE's support for Moroccan sovereignty over its southern provinces.
