Today, Americans go to the polls and around the country the queues for polling stations are long.

SVT's correspondent Stefan Åsberg is in the capital Washington DC and says that he has met many voters, both Democrats and Republicans who are on their way to vote.

- These are motivated voters.

Long queues in Delaware

In the Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden's home state of Delaware, SVT's Carina Bergfeldt is outside a polling station.

She says that most voters here will most likely vote for Biden, who has been elected senator here since 1972.
