Very mild air pulled in over southern Sweden on Monday.

Several local November records have been broken (we will go through everything later).

The warmest was in Kristianstad in eastern Skåne, which peaked at 18.3 degrees.

It is only one tenth below the record for the whole country: 18.4 degrees from 2 November 1968 in Ugerup in Scania, which happens to be just south of Kristianstad.

Although both Lund and Malmö were among the Scanian stations that reached over 17 degrees at least, it was an area in northern Götaland that qualified for the top 5 list by a few tenths of a margin: Västgötska Mariestad and Karlsborg, and Östgötska Kvarn.

Record from the end of the 19th century battle in Svealand

Until today, November 2, 2020, Svealand's November record has been very old.

On November 6, 1899, Bie's Sörmland reached 16.0 degrees.

Because it is such an old temperature measurement, the value has been questioned, especially since it was much higher than nearby stations.

In Svealand, Örebro airport topped with 18.1 degrees, followed by Eskilstuna and Floda had 16.9 and 16.6 degrees respectively.

18.1 degrees in Örebro

The extremely high temperature of 18.1 degrees at Örebro Airport stands out in November.

Geographically, however, Örebro Airport is relatively close to the stations with almost 18 degrees in northern Götaland.

In addition, there are indications from the resorts just west of the airport that it could very well have been so hot there.

NOTE!

All temperature values are preliminary, with the exception of Kristianstad which according to SMHI is approved.

Remaining observations are reviewed manually and then there is a risk that values are rejected.
