It was Kvällsposten that was the first to report that an aircraft was suspected of having been used in a drug crime in Smygehamn in early August.

Prosecutor Ulla Karlbrink can now for SVT Nyheter Skåne confirm the suspicion that an aircraft was used.

- It has come from another country and flown into Sweden, says Ulla Karlbrink to SVT Nyheter Skåne.

According to the prosecutor, it is a Scanian who previously worked as a pilot but lost his pilot's license who is said to have flown the drug plane.

The drug must have been released from the air.

- It is observations that have been made on this day that have made us have these suspicions, says Ulla Karlbrink.

Previous drug addiction

The suspected drug pilot has previously been sentenced to prison for smuggling black cocaine from South America via a consignment of goods.

In connection with the arrest of two men in early August, the police seized 30 kilos of cannabis.

It is this drug that is suspected to have been released from an aircraft.

Still suspicious

The two men have been in custody on suspicion of a serious drug crime, but were released at the end of September.

The suspicions against them remain, however.

The crime classification is still unchanged, even though the drugs have not been fully analyzed.

Thus, it is not yet clear how much of the intoxicating substance the party contains, and what penalty value this corresponds to.

- What makes the case a little difficult to assess is that we do not know what type of cannabis this is, says prosecutor Ulla Karlbrink.
