This is stated in a message on the website of Attorney General Laetitia James.

"New York Attorney General Laetitia James announced today that her department is actively investigating reports of voters receiving automated phone calls spreading misinformation and urging them to stay home on election day," the prosecutor's office said.

The statement also emphasizes that attempts to interfere with voters are illegal and "cause concern."

According to the state attorney general, the search for organizers of automatic calls is underway.

Earlier, the New York Post reported that the elections in the US also revealed cases of "dead souls" voting.
