In Guinea, the unsuccessful candidates for the presidential election of October 18, won in the first round by outgoing President Alpha Condé, according to the provisional results of the Ceni, had until Sunday evening to file their appeals with the Court constitutional.

The institution should rule by the end of the week by proclaiming the final results or canceling the ballot.

Until then, the UFDG, the main opposition party, is keeping the pressure on the streets.

If ten of the twelve presidential candidates

contest the results

, only four have filed their appeal on time with the Constitutional Court.

The UFDG, the main opposition party, in a thick document, calls for the invalidation of the ballot in the region of Kankan, deemed stronghold of power.

The party, supporting minutes, denounces numerous irregularities in the operations of centralization and totalization of votes.

The candidates of PADES, NGR and PACT would ask for the cancellation of the ballot, according to a source at the Constitutional Court.

Climate of tension

The other parties have 48 hours to send their observations to the Court.

The institution must then take a decision within the following three days, according to the Electoral Code.

The verdict is therefore expected by Friday.

The UFDG, which has little hope in the Constitutional Court, is maintaining pressure in the street with a new call to demonstrate for Tuesday.

A strategy that four other unfortunate candidates disapprove of, none of which exceeded 0.5%, and who made it known at a press conference on Monday.

Sign of the climate of tension, the government and the UFDG accuse each other of preparing attacks

against businesses
